My Son, Your Daughter, the Jonah Johnson Youth Scholarship Fund was founded by Donnetta Bishop-Johnson in 2012 to shine a light on depression and its consequences, healthy choices, and suicide prevention. Having lost her own son to suicide, Bishop-Johnson decided to make a difference in her community through the charity and its flagship event, the Hillsborough Music Festival. Issues such as depression, anxiety and mental health are still shrouded in societal stigma.
Awareness is lacking, as discourse gets silenced.
Four in five teenagers give clear warning signs before attempting suicide. There is hope, however:
Suicide is preventable, and with your help and support,
we can make a difference.
we can make a difference.
Let’s work together to fulfill our mission: Never stop dreaming about a better life for our children. The Jonah Johnson Youth Scholarship Fund is a Hope for Tomorrow.
"Suicide does not end the chance of a life getting worse,
it eliminates the chance of it ever getting any better."

The Hillsborough Music Festival
This festival, held each summer, provides a platform to celebrate the tremendous wealth of talent that is available locally—in Hillsborough, Montgomery, and Bridgewater—and in surrounding communities as far away as NYC, Connecticut, and Philadelphia, while simultaneously shining a light on mental health, suicide prevention, and positive solutions for our youth. For more information, go to borofest.org.
